A fun way to help your kids learn to read and comprehend what they read, is to give them interesting subjects to read about at every level. In this class, students will read 3 fun short stories that have different topics from science and history topics. This provides students a subject matter that keeps their interest and helps them learn to love reading, all the while they are practicing their reading. This one on one  class will provide your student an opportunity to read allowed in class, allowing the teacher to help them with their reading skills as needed. Then the student will answer 5 comprehension questions about the story they read.
Next, the student will write out 1-2 paragraphs about their favorite story that we read together. Each story provides a writing prompt, the student will pick their favorite story we read, and write about that. We will use the white board or screen share, to have the student type up their writing answering the writing prompt question while the teacher helps give guidance on their writing, including grammar, punctuation, spelling. These would be considered short essay type writing assignments.

This class is meant to be one on one for this age group to provide that help that students need on their writing.
